I’ve been “bearing” the idea of creating Ganesh for a long time. I enjoy painting elephants, but to put an elephant’s head together with a human’s body… I wouldn’t want to make the pose very static but at the same time too muсh dynamics don’t blend with this laid-back deity. The sketch I used in the end, appeared very fast and I copied it on canvas almost not changing anything. I’ve been painting Ganesh for a long time. Several times I had to put off the work and several times to make corrections and changes (for example having put together all the information about the Hindu god and having worked out every detail of the sketch, I contrived to mix up the broken tusk). But in the end, two months after creating the sketch my Ganesh was ready.
